Your Data Rights:

On lookmix.co.uk, you have the right to obtain free information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data at any time. You also have the right to request the correction, blocking, or deletion of these data. To do so, and for further questions on the topic of data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address provided in the imprint. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Security Measures

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures in accordance with Art. 32 GDPR, taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, circumstances, and purposes of processing as well as varying degrees of probability and severity of risks to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk. The measures include, in particular, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data by controlling physical access to the data, as well as access to, input, transmission, securing the availability, and separation of the data. Furthermore, we have established procedures that ensure the exercise of data subjects' rights, deletion of data, and response to data threats. Additionally, we already consider the protection of personal data during the development or selection of hardware, software as well as processes, according to the principle of data protection by design and privacy-friendly default settings (Art. 25 GDPR).

Cooperation with Processors and Third Parties

If we disclose data to other people and companies (processors or third parties) as part of our processing, transfer it to them, or otherwise grant them access to the data, this will only be done on the basis of a legal permission (e.g., if the transfer of the data to third parties, such as to payment service providers, is necessary for contract fulfilment according to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), you have given your consent, a legal obligation provides for this or based on our legitimate interests (e.g., when using agents, web hosts, etc.). If we commission third parties to process data on the basis of a so-called "data processing agreement," this is done on the basis of Art. 28 GDPR.

Data Transfers to Third Countries

If we process data in a third country (i.e., outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) or this occurs in the context of using third-party services or disclosing, or transferring data to third parties, this will only be done if it is to fulfil our (pre)contractual obligations, based on your consent, due to a legal obligation, or based on our legitimate interests. Subject to legal or contractual permissions, we process or allow the data to be processed in a third country only if the special requirements of Art. 44 ff. GDPR are met. This means the processing takes place, for example, based on special guarantees, such as the officially recognized establishment of a data protection level corresponding to the EU (e.g., for the USA through the "Privacy Shield") or compliance with officially recognized special contractual obligations (so-called "standard contractual clauses").

Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right to request confirmation as to whether data relating to you are being processed and to obtain information about these data as well as further information and a copy of the data in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR.

According to Art. 16 GDPR, you have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate data relating to you or the completion of incomplete data.

According to Art. 17 GDPR, you have the right to request the immediate erasure of data relating to you, or alternatively, according to Art. 18 GDPR, to request restriction of the processing of the data.

You have the right to receive the data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR and to request their transmission to other controllers.

According to Art. 77 GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw any consent given in accordance with Art. 7(3) GDPR with effect for the future.

Collection of Access Data and Log Files

We, or our hosting provider, collect data on the basis of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR about every access to the server on which this service is located (so-called server log files). The access data include the name of the accessed website, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, message about successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address, and the requesting provider. Log file information is stored for a maximum of 7 days for security reasons (e.g., to investigate misuse or fraud) and then deleted. Data, the further retention of which is required for evidentiary purposes, are exempt from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

Content Delivery Network by Cloudflare

We use a so-called "Content Delivery Network" (CDN), offered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnZKAA0&status=Active). A CDN is a service that helps deliver content from our online offer, especially large media files such as graphics or scripts, more quickly with the help of regionally distributed and internet-connected servers. The processing of users' data is carried out solely for the aforementioned purposes and for maintaining the security and functionality of the CDN. The use is based on our legitimate interests, i.e., interest in a secure and efficient provision, analysis, and optimization of our online offer according to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Further information can be found in Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/security-policy.

Cookies and Right to Object to Direct Advertising

"Cookies" are small files that are stored on users' computers. Different information can be stored within the cookies. A cookie primarily serves to store information about a user (or the device on which the cookie is stored) during or after their visit within an online offer. Temporary cookies, or "session cookies" or "transient cookies," are cookies that are deleted after a user leaves an online offer and closes their browser. In such a cookie, for example, the content of a shopping cart in an online shop or a login status can be stored. "Permanent" or "persistent" cookies are those that remain stored even after the browser is closed. For instance, the login status can be stored if the users visit them after several days. Likewise, users' interests can be stored in such a cookie, which is used for reach measurement or marketing purposes. "Third-party cookies" are cookies that are offered by providers other than the controller that operates the online offer (otherwise, if it is only their cookies, they are referred to as "first-party cookies"). We may use temporary and permanent cookies and clarify this within the framework of our privacy policy. If users do not want cookies to be stored on their computer, they are asked to disable the corresponding option in their browser's system settings. Stored cookies can be deleted in the system settings of the browser. The exclusion of cookies can lead to functional restrictions of this online offer. A general objection to the use of cookies used for online marketing purposes can be declared for a variety of services, especially in the case of tracking, via the US site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/. Furthermore, the storage of cookies can be achieved by disabling them in the browser settings. Please note that not all functions of this online offer may be used if cookies are disabled.

Technical explanations for deleting cookies:

Google Analytics:

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google LLC ("Google"), based on our legitimate interests (i.e., interest in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our online offer in the sense of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offer by the users is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus provides a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the usage of our online offer by the users, to compile reports on the activities within this online offer, and to provide us with further services related to the use of this online offer and internet use. In doing so, pseudonymous user profiles of the users can be created from the processed data.

We use Google Analytics only with activated IP anonymization. This means that the IP address of the users is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

The IP address transmitted by the user's browser will not be merged with other data from Google. Users may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser software; additionally, users can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to their use of the online offer by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

For more information on Google's data usage, settings, and opt-out options, please refer to Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated). Users' personal data will be deleted or anonymized after 14 months.

Google Universal Analytics

We use Google Analytics in the form of "Universal Analytics." "Universal Analytics" refers to a method of Google Analytics in which user analysis is based on a pseudonymous user ID and thus a pseudonymous profile of the user with information from the use of different devices is created (so-called "cross-device tracking").

Audience Building with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to display the ads placed within Google's advertising services and its partners only to those users who have also shown an interest in our online offer or who exhibit certain characteristics (e.g., interests in certain topics or products, determined based on the websites visited) that we transmit to Google (so-called "remarketing audiences" or "Google Analytics audiences"). With the help of remarketing audiences, we also want to ensure that our ads match the potential interest of users.

Google AdSense with Personalized Ads

We use the services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, ("Google") based on our legitimate interests (i.e., interest in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR).

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

We use the AdSense service, with the help of which advertisements are displayed on our website, and we receive remuneration for their display or other use. For these purposes, usage data such as the click on an advertisement and the IP address of the users are processed, with the IP address being truncated by the last two digits. Therefore, the data of the users is processed pseudonymously.

We use AdSense with personalized ads. In doing so, Google draws conclusions about users' interests based on the websites or apps they visit and the user profiles created in this way. Advertisers use this information to tailor their campaigns to these interests, which is mutually beneficial for both users and advertisers. Ads are personalized for Google when captured or known data determine or influence the ad selection. This includes, among other things, previous search queries, activities, website visits, the use of apps, demographic and location information. Specifically, this includes demographic targeting, targeting on interest categories, remarketing, as well as targeting on lists for customer matching and target group lists uploaded in DoubleClick Bid Manager or Campaign Manager.

For more information on Google's data usage, settings, and opt-out options, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

Google AdSense with Non-Personalized Ads

We use AdSense with non-personalized ads. In doing so, the ads are not displayed based on user profiles. Non-personalized ads are not based on past user behavior. Contextual information is used for targeting, including coarse (e.g., location-based) geographic targeting based on the current location, content on the current website or app, and current search terms. Google prohibits any form of personalized targeting, including demographic targeting and targeting based on user lists.

For more information on Google's data usage, settings, and opt-out options, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

Google AdWords and Conversion Measurement

We use the services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, ("Google") based on our legitimate interests (i.e., interest in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR).

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

We use the online marketing method Google "AdWords" to place ads in the Google advertising network (e.g., in search results, in videos, on websites, etc.), so that they are displayed to users who have a presumed interest in the ads. This allows us to display ads for and within our online offer more precisely to present users only with ads that potentially correspond to their interests. If a user is shown ads for products in which they have shown interest on other online offers, this is referred to as "remarketing." For these purposes, when our website and other websites where the Google advertising network is active are accessed, a code is executed directly by Google and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also referred to as "web beacons") are incorporated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e., a small file, is stored on the user's device (similar technologies can also be used instead of cookies). In this file, it is noted which websites the user visited, what content they are interested in, and what offers they clicked on, as well as technical information on the browser and operating system, referring websites, visit time, and other information on the use of the online offer.

We also receive an individual "conversion cookie." The information collected with the help of the cookie is used by Google to create conversion statistics for us. However, we only receive the anonymous total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. We do not receive any information that personally identifies the users.

The data of the users is processed pseudonymously within the Google advertising network. That is, Google stores and processes, e.g., not the name or email address of the users, but processes the relevant data cookie-related within pseudonymous user profiles. This means that from Google's perspective, the ads are not managed and displayed for a specifically identified person but for the cookie owner, regardless of who this cookie owner is. This does not apply if a user has explicitly allowed Google to process the data without this pseudonymization. The information collected about the users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google's servers in the USA.

For more information on Google's data usage, settings, and opt-out options, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and the settings for the display of advertisements by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

Facebook Pixel, Custom Audiences, and Facebook Conversion

Within our online offer, due to our legitimate interests in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our online offer and for these purposes, the so-called "Facebook Pixel" of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or if you are based in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"), is used.

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active).

With the help of the Facebook pixel, it is possible for Facebook to determine the visitors of our online offer as a target group for the display of ads (so-called "Facebook ads"). Accordingly, we use the Facebook pixel to display the Facebook ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have also shown interest in our online offer or who exhibit certain characteristics (e.g., interests in certain topics or products determined based on the websites visited) that we transmit to Facebook (so-called "Custom Audiences"). With the help of the Facebook pixel, we also want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interest of the users and do not have a harassing effect. With the help of the Facebook pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing if users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called "conversion").

The processing of data by Facebook is carried out within the framework of Facebook's data usage policy. Accordingly, general information on the display of Facebook ads, in Facebook's data usage policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Special information and details about the Facebook pixel and how it works can be found in the Facebook help section: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.

You can object to the collection by the Facebook pixel and use of your data to display Facebook ads. To set which types of ads are shown to you within Facebook, you can go to the Facebook-set up page and follow the instructions there on the settings for usage-based advertising: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. The settings are platform-independent, meaning they are applied to all devices, such as desktop computers or mobile devices.

You can object to the use of cookies used for reach measurement and advertising purposes via the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page (http://optout.networkadvertising.org/), as well as the US website (http://www.aboutads.info/choices) or the European website (http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/).

Online Presence in Social Media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with customers, interested parties, and users active there and to inform them about our services. When calling up the respective networks and platforms, the terms and conditions and the data processing guidelines of their respective operators apply.

Unless otherwise stated in our privacy policy, we process the data of users if they communicate with us on social networks and platforms, e.g., write posts on our online presences or send us messages.

YouTube

We embed videos from the "YouTube" platform of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Google Fonts

We embed the fonts ("Google Fonts") provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Google ReCaptcha

We embed the function for recognizing bots, e.g., for entries in online forms ("ReCaptcha") provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Use of Facebook Social Plugins

We use Social Plugins ("Plugins") from the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"), based on our legitimate interests (i.e., interest in the analysis, optimization, and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The plugins may represent interaction elements or content (e.g., videos, graphics, or text posts) and can be recognized by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on blue tile, the terms "Like", "Thumbs Up" sign) or are marked with the addition "Facebook Social Plugin". The list and the appearance of Facebook Social Plugins can be viewed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=Active).

When a user calls up a function of this online offer that contains such a plugin, their device establishes a direct connection with Facebook's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted from Facebook directly to the user's device and integrated into the online offer by the device. In this way, usage profiles of the users can be created from the processed data. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and therefore inform users according to our knowledge.

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that a user has called up the corresponding page of the online offer. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to their Facebook account. If users interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the Like button or leaving a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted from their device directly to Facebook and stored there. If a user is not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will find out and store their IP address. According to Facebook, only an anonymized IP address is stored in Germany.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as the relevant rights and settings options to protect the privacy of users, can be found in Facebook's privacy notice: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about them via this online offer and link it to their membership data stored on Facebook, they must log out of Facebook before using our online offer and delete their cookies. Further settings and objections to the use of data for advertising purposes are possible within the Facebook profile settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads or via the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/. The settings are platform-independent, i.e., they are applied to all devices, such as desktop computers or mobile devices.

Newsletter

With the following information, we inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch, and statistical evaluation procedure and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the described procedures.

Content of the newsletter: We send newsletters, emails, and other electronic notifications with promotional information (hereinafter "newsletter") only with the consent of the recipients or legal permission. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described during registration, they are decisive for the consent of the users. Otherwise, our newsletters contain information about our services and us.

Double opt-in and logging: Registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that you will receive an email after registration in which you are asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register with other people's email addresses. Registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Likewise, the changes to your data stored with the dispatch service provider are logged.

Registration data: To subscribe to the newsletter, it is sufficient to provide your email address. Optionally, we ask you to provide a name for personal address in the newsletter.

The dispatch of the newsletter and the success measurement associated with it are based on the consent of the recipients pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 GDPR in conjunction with § 7 para. 2 no. 3 UWG or on the basis of legal permission pursuant to § 7 para. 3 UWG.

The logging of the registration process is based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our interest is directed toward the use of a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and meets users' expectations and also allows us to provide evidence of consents.

Cancellation/Revocation - You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e., revoke your consents. A link to cancel the newsletter can be found at the end of each newsletter. We may store unsubscribed email addresses for up to three years based on our legitimate interests before deleting them in order to provide evidence of previously given consent. The processing of this data is limited to the purpose of a possible defense against claims. An individual deletion request is possible at any time, provided that the former existence of consent is confirmed at the same time.

Newsletter - MailChimp

The newsletters are sent using "MailChimp," a newsletter delivery platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. You can view the privacy policy of the dispatch service provider here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TO6hAAG&status=Active)

The service provider is used based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28(3)(1) GDPR.

The service provider may use the data of the recipients in pseudonymous form, i.e., without assignment to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, e.g., for the technical optimization of the dispatch and the display of the newsletters or for statistical purposes. However, the service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass on the data to third parties.

Newsletter - Success Measurement

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon,” i.e., a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server, or from the server of our shipping service provider if we use one, when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, are first collected.

This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their access locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters were opened, when they were opened, and which links were clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of the shipping service provider, if used, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

A separate revocation of the success measurement is unfortunately not possible, in which case the entire newsletter subscription must be canceled.

Hosting and Email Dispatch

The hosting services we use serve to provide the following services: infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, email dispatch, security services, and technical maintenance services that we use for the operation of this online offer.

In this context, we, or our hosting provider, process inventory data, contact data, content data, contract data, usage data, meta-data, and communication data of customers, interested parties, and visitors to this online offer on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of this online offer in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 28 GDPR (conclusion of a data processing agreement).
